Below you can find some of my qualifications, job experience, and professional areas of expertise. I have broken the skills into two areas for your convenience.

Jeff Ream

The School Counselor

Jeff Ream has a Master of Science in Educational Counseling and Pupil Personnel Services credential through the University of La Verne with a 4.0 GPA. I have participated in courses focused on career development, educational assessment and college testing, group and individual counseling, multicultural awareness, and human development.

 

 

Jeff is a school counselor at North Tahoe High School in Tahoe City, CA. In his tenure, he has revamped the entire program, implemented district wide initiatives, overseen large program additions at all high schools, and created many opportunities for students and families. In under four years, Jeff has helped lead a change in college going culture at NTHS with over 81% of students attending 2 or 4 year college in the Fall immediatly following graduation (over 23% increase from 4 years prior). Other counseling experiences have been with running a counseling program for an "at-risk" boys population to counseling in the general population and administration.

 

 

In May of 2012, Jeff began blogging as The Counseling Geek - a blog to help counselors use technology in their programs. Please see the area to the right for details about the opportunities this has allowed Jeff to be a part of.

 

In August of 2013, Jeff was appointed Technology Chairperson to the board of the California Association of School Counselors. He is heading up a large technological update, social media, and marketing push with the team.

 

In July 2014, Jeff co-presented to his counseling colleagues the national ASCA conference on the topic of Branding and Marketing Your School Counseling Program. He also co-authored two ASCA School Counselor Magazine Articles on Branding & Marketing.

 

Throughout 2014-2015, Jeff spoke at four conferences around the country in breakout and keynote settings on topics ranging from advocacy and marketing to leadership and technology. See my speaking page for more details.

 

In October 2015, Jeff was named one of two finalists for the School Counselor of the Year Award for the state of California.

  • Foster collaboration, continued learning, and professional development for myself and fellow counselors through social media, cross promotion, and marketing stratagey.
